In my opinion, CAGED HEAT is a really fun movie, and one of the better women-in-prison films.
Some scenes of note are, unethical and incredibly twisted behavior perpetrated by the prison doctor, various types of exaggerated violence, and if you're a nature lover, you'll love the sight of beavers frolicking... ha-ha-ha.
It's also unintentionally "wacky" at times.
CAGED HEAT was written and directed by Jonathan Demme... The same guy that popularized "fava beans and Chianti".
A few of the folks in the movie are, Erica Gavin, Cheryl Smith ( aka Cheryl "Rainbeaux" Smith 1955 - 2002 ), Barbara Steele, and many other familiar faces.
EMBASSY HOME ENTERTAINMENT released it on VHS. I'm NOT sure, but I think it may have also been released by NEW CONCORDE, and NEW HORIZONS.
CAGED HEAT was released on region one DVD by SHOUT FACTORY. It's part of a double feature ( paired with JACKSON COUNTY JAIL ).
I'm NOT certain, but a couple of other region one DVDs may have been released ( by NEW CONCORDE and also by BUENA VISTA ).
