YET ANOTHER NEW FREE MOVIE CHANNEL

Screengrab of the COMET TV website homepage.

Here's the list so far, MOVIES TV NETWORK, THIS TV, H&I, GRIT TV, ESCAPE TV, GET TV, and now you can add COMET TV.

COMET TV focuses on sci-fi and horror.

Like most of the other channels, COMET TV appears to be a combination of movies and shows. I'm NOT fond of most of the shows they have listed, but I do like most of the movies they're airing.

As I write this, there are NO affiliates in my viewing area, and that pisses me off.

As of June 2017, some of the films they're airing are....

MOTEL HELL ( Rory Calhoun and Nancy Parsons )
BLACK SABBATH ( Mario Bava and Boris Karloff )
GHOST TOWN ( Franc Luz and Catherine Hickland )
ROCKULA ( Dean Cameron and Toni Basil )

SCREAMTIME ( Robin Bailey )
SPELLCASTER ( Gail O'Grady and Adam Ant )
ANGRY RED PLANET ( Gerald Mohr and Nora Hayden )
WITCHBOARD ( Tawny Kitaen )

X-RAY aka HOSPITAL MASSACRE ( Barbi Benton - YEAH BABY! ) Photo source IMDB

Their website lets you watch for free, so I recommend you visit it.

Also, check your local channels every so often, to see if COMET TV has been added to your area.

  1. We "get" Comet here, but even with a powerful antenna it's a no-go. The reception is awful, continually breaking up, so I gave up long ago. The only non-cable broadcast sources here are a few local channels, the nostalgia game show channel Buzzr (great if you like '70s Match Game reruns like I do), plus MeTV and AntennaTV for vintage TV shows. Cable's not worth a dime anymore, so it's digital antenna broadcast, and the handy DVD collection.

  2. Comet is gone here now, replaced by ThisTV. Still the same crappy reception on my pricey antenna and booster. Pffft!

  3. Aha! Somebody else in our area picked up the Comet TV channel, and the picture quality and reception is perfect! Now if they'd just run THE TWONKY again...
